Another year, another set of Geoff Keighley-curated announcements. 6i5j25
Summer Game Fest kicked off officially with a two hours show showcasing a whole slew of announcements from heaps of developers around the world.
Not a huge amount of announcements rustled by jimmies, if I’m being honest, beside the obvious, but here’s a curated list of the most of the announcements from Summer Game Fest 2025.
The trailer prominently featured Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from the Resident Evil Outbreak games. It’s out on February 27th 2026.
The game takes place in 1943 Japan and has you playing as a hard-boiled detective. It’s from the team who brought us the Yakuza and Like A Dragon games.
It’s called Scott Pilgrim EX and it’s made by the same developer as those who made TMNT Shredder’s Revenge and the Marvel beat ’em up. It’s out in 2026.
Obviously a sequel to the first Mortal Shell, Mortal Shell II has you blasting and slashing your way through a whole bunch of eldritch-inspired abominations. The game is due out in 2026.
The short clip showcases the relationship between Luca Marinelli’s character, Neil, and Lucy, played by Alissa Jung. The game is still on track for a release on June 26th and there will be more revealed about the game at a dedicated event later this week.
The game is a medieval action game set in a brutal European world narrated by none other than Tom Hardy of all people. It’s called Chronicles Medieval and it’s hitting early access on Steam in early 2026.
While it’ll never be Mario Kart, this one is called CrossWorlds and looks especially good with a huge range of characters from a whole range of SEGA properties including Like A Dragon, Persona and Hatsune Miku of all people. It’s out on September 25th 2025 and Minecraft also features in the game.
It’s creatively titled Code Vein II and it’s out in 2026. If you weren’t aware, it’s essentially a Dark Souls inspired game set in an anime-looking world with vampires.
It’s giving Little Nightmare but infinitely more dynamic. Maybe. I like the look of this one. It’s out in 2025.
The game is essentially a shooter in the same visual style as classic cartoons and/or Cuphead if that captures your interest. It’s still on track for 2025.
I don’t know about this one at all. It’s scored by Flying Lotus though which is cool I guess.
The game is called War For Westeros and it’s a huge looking epic set in the world of Game of Throne. I’m not caught up on the series but I am assuming it tackles a whole bunch of what-if scenarios. It’s a real time strategy game and it’s out in 2026.
I think the tone of the game will be the same as the original game, which means it’s probably not for me, but this sequel will have a much better emphasis on RPG mechanics and player freedom. Perhaps they’re stepping into the immersive sim genre? No release date was announced but it’s coming to PC and consoles. There’s also an MMO coming set in the world of Atomic Heart as well.
The game is a great-looking beat-em-up that has you choosing from a wide roster of characters. It hasn’t got a release date yet but looks like a great one for those who played and enjoyed Rita’s Rewind or Shredder’s Revenge.
The new trailer showcases some of the new characters in the game as well a as a returning enemies from the previous games. It’s looking like a nice blend of old Onimusha with more modern action games. It’s still on track for 2026.
The game is an online twenty four player murder deduction game where you use social deduction skills to work out who…errr….killed someone. Think of it a Cluedo but way cooler. It will have a closed beta soon.
The game had a hugely succesful technology test earlier this year, being made by some ex-DICE/Battlefield developers. It’s out on October 30th which is very cool given how long it’s been since the announcement.
It’s out on June 10th, but you can play it on Steam today with the headstart period starting now. I love the world of DUNE but I’m not sure about this one but if you like sand and worms then this is the game for you.
The game is touted as an “action-packed MMORPG where time dictates destiny”. Big day for watch and clock enjoyers. There is a playtest in the third week of June on PC.
Great.
This one is called MIO: Memories In Orbit, and it’s demo is out today on Steam. I love the look of this one, and am keen to play it.
It features a whole bunch of new locations, bosses and enemies. And, even better, it’s out TODAY.
Described as a Doki Doki meets Silent Hill experience, the game has you restoring a neglected home in what people are calling a psychological life sim.
It’s exclusive to the Meta Quest 3 and 3S and features Neil Patrick Harris as the merc with a mouth. The ship has sailed on me for VR especially with the exclusivity to a newer headset BUT this does look good.
It’s looking better than the previous game, at least, and follows the protagonist from the first game. It’s out on August 22nd.
He’s reprising his role as Le Chiffre from the Casino Royale film, and playing the mission will unlock content in the 007: First Light.
The game is touted as a story-driven survival horror from a team aiming to create one of the most realistic horror FPSs possible.
Alex, Ingrid, C.Viper and Sagat will the roster throughout 2026.
