EXCLUSIVE CARD REVEAL: Disney Lorcana’s Reign Of Jafar Is Almost Here 2q211h

Disney Lorcana’s next set, Reign Of Jafar, is only a few weeks away, bringing with it a bunch of new cards, characters and fun! With pre-release events happening as of the 30th May and the official retail release occurring on the 6th June, this next set release is sure to take the crown – delivering not only a whole new set of cards to collect and play, but new playmats, deck boxes and sleeves, as well as a new Illumineer’s trove and Illumineer’s Quest, all in tribute to the Grand Vizier of Agrabah turned All-Powerful Sorcerer himself. 6w1n3a

For anyone new to the game, Disney Lorcana is a trading card game brought to life by Disney and Ravensburger, which features beloved franchises and characters that players can use to play, challenge opponents and quest for lore to win the game. Those familiar with Magic The Gathering or Pokemon will find comfort in similarities to game mechanics and way to play/collect, with new comers to the TCG world warmly welcomed to a game that is fun and easy to learn…and just a wee bit addictive too!

Thanks to Disney, our resident Lorcana addict, Jake, has the pleasure of revealing one of the new cards players can find in Reign of Jafar…welcome to the board, ‘Fantastical and Magical’.

‘Fantastical and Magical’ is a Amethyst Action/Song card with an ink cost of 9 and it being uninkable by players. This particular song card can be popped onto the board by the player having any number of their characters sing the song together (up to a total cost of 9 or more) – with its ability being “For each character that sang this song, draw a card and gain 1 lore.” The illustration and design for this card has been done by UK based designer, Natalia Trykowska, who was the artist behind the ‘Magical Maid’ card in Lorcana’s Ursula’s Return set, as well as other well known IP illustrations and designs such as Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars, Legends Of Runeterra and League of Legends.

If your a Lorcana veteran, you might notice the similarities between this card and the recent Archazia’s Island card ‘This Is My Family’, also allowing for a cheeky lore gain and card draw in one action. Except this time around it looks like this latest card is taking the lore gaining and card drawing to a whole new level, allowing players to catch up on some much needed lore, or seal that end game win whilst drawing a few cards at the same time and keeping that hand full. None-the-less ‘Fantastical and Magical’ may be one of those sneaky cards to look at for in both friendly games with the family and competitive matches down at the local game store come release day!

Disney’s Lorcana ‘Reign Of Jafar’ will be available for pre-release on 30th May 2025, and everywhere else on 6th June 2025.
